Play This Music: Hamilton Marshall (Hip-Hop)

Hamilton Marshall

Hamilton Marshall

Meet Hamilton Marshall, currently he may just look like another musician trying to build his way up, plastering his music on Myspace and self promoting in every way he can, but what you can’t see is what you have to hear for yourself.

Although it has become pretty apparent Play this covers Alternative and Rock music, anyone that has ears can appreciate the things coming out of this mans mouth. Just listening to his candid cover of songs from Usher, Neyo and many other big names, you can hear how enthusiastic and natural it all is. No fake sounds, just pure musical bliss from a great singer.

Hamilton is bound to be the next big thing and we give him a full five out of five on the burrito system hands down. What are you waiting for, check him out! (Have questions for Hamilton? Hit us up and we’ll be sure he gets the message and be sure to add him on Myspace).

What do your fans call you:

“Performing name? Oh yeah? i forgot people had those. I’m just me :) Hamilton Marshall.”

What brought you to begin singing?

“Divine intervention? not sure exactly! my mom was in church choirs as long as I can remember. I think I gave it a shot and one day me and a few friends… (we were about 8 or 9) decided to form a group and start writing.”

Do you currently have any plans to create a full album?

I do. I’d love to finish a whole album and just really spend all my time making hits. Right now though I’m just focusing on each day progressing and building my fan base.

What age did you start?

“I guess we’ll go with when I started singing in Fresh (the group my friends and I formed) soo about 8 or 9.”

What do you like best?

“I like lots of things. Being on stage has got to be the biggest thrill though. Lots of people talk about stage fright and stuff but I don’t have that at all I could do this naked (laughing). Everyone is there to see you and want you to do your best. So you know what the audience wants, give them what they need.  On a personal level, “besides that I like to hang with my friends? watch movies? tailgate at football games sometimes, I’m a normal 21 year old.”

How many places if any have you performed at live?

“A few now. I Started out doing coffee shops and a hookah lounge here or there. Recently I’ve had the opportunity to do bigger events such as clubs and even sing live on the radio and that video is actually available on my profile. It’s awesome. looking forward to doing more of this hopefully everyday.”

Hamilton where are you from?

“For the most part I was raised in Jacksonville, Florida. I’ve lived a couple other places but yeah… duval/clay county is where I call home.”

Have you collaborated or worked with anyone?

“I get to work with a group of some of the best artists I know every week. The Lapinc team which I’m a part of. Not only are these guys extremely talented at what they do but they’re also just real people and they’ve helped me a lot recently. You definitely need to check them out on Myspace go to myspace. com/904lapinc

Who would you want to collaborate with?

“I really wanna work with some producers that understand the direction I want my songs to go in from this point out. Theres a lot of people I’d like to work with but Sara Bareilles writing or playing piano on a track would be awesome.”

Who are some of your influences?

“I honestly think everything you see or hear in a day influence you in some way good or bad. As far as people that influence me the list is too long. I listen to a little bit of everything on a daily basis.”

What are some of your future plans?

“Well right now I’m promoting my new single “Stop Drop and Roll” the official release will be soon! Trying to get out there as much as possible and get peoples attention! I’m really glad its working so far. Planning on doing a video in the near future.”

What are some of your favorite bands/groups and names in entertainment?

“Too many artists to list my favorite bands. My top favorite artist is John Legend. Favorite movie… I’m sure theres something I’m forgetting but for now lets say Wedding Crashers. lol I dont really watch a lot of tv these days. when i do I’m usually watching CNN… The Hills… or… two and a half men.”

What gets you through the day?

“God cause I’m sure without someones help I’d have been dead by now (laughing). My friends and family, even entertainment and the thought that everything i do and go through today will make a difference or just make sense tomorrow.”

Are there any reasons in particular you sing and perform?

“Because it’s what I love. It’s what I’ve done since I was 8… and what I plan to do for the rest of my life.”
