iPad: New Apple Tablet to be sold in 2 months, cost $499

iPad

Apple has officially launched it’s new tablet, the iPad.

Check back later for important specs and information on the iPad.

From what we can tell, it seems to run off a version of the iPhone operating system, which means no flash. This is just a big iPhone, meh.

Full touchscreen keypad

The iPad can work with any network that uses GSM micro SIMs. The first deal is for $30 a month unlimited data with AT&T or $15 for the first 250 MB used.

It will cost $499 for the basic model, which means no 3G connectivity.

A wee bit expensive for a suped up ebook reader. There is no camera on the front or back, so the iPhone is already a lot better. This also probably means no front facing camera for the iPhone 4. Steve Jobs also claims that it can run for up to 10 hours, whether or not that is on standby mode has not been made clear. It will have essentially a MacBook battery though.

There will be a docking station as well, which allows you to have a full keyboard, rather than on-screen.

Those who own an iPhone will not have to pay for the same apps twice, you can sync everything up that you already own.

HD movies! Oh but wait, it has no HD screen.
