The training has been in full swing with at least 2 miles of running per day, time for a second race. The first run to be sponsored by EFM was to be the March 14, St. Patty’s day 8K run, but why not fast track it and throw a 5K into the mix.
After terrible amounts of veggies, fruit and running bars, this poor tasting diet is getting me ready and hurting in all sorts of new places. My current training plan has started from running a maximum of 2 miles per run, with 6 out of 7 days being used for running. The last day in the week is a rest period, which ended up being used for cross training.
I’ve moved from the 2 mile maximum to the now 5K minimum per run. That amounts to about 20 miles of running per week, which isn’t to shabby since my life already is filled with 9 hours of work per day, time spent managing Play This and working on my communications masters program.
Since my lovely counterpart decided we should celebrate V-day on the 13th of February, this gives me a great opportunity to go for the “Love the Run You’re With 5k,” which is on February 14th. That leaves me with 19 days to get ready for my first official race for Play This. This won’t be a race to raise charity however, but any donations placed into our account will be given to the Haiti relief fund, which we will donate to on March 14th, 2010.
The further detailed training schedule will be posted at the not so distant future. Hopefully this week, but it’s going to be a hectic one, as usual.
Long term goal? Heading back to the ATL for the AJC Peachtree road race.

Keep up the good work man!
