The fine people at ReclaimPrivacy.org has created a new feature to help protect your personal information.
Simply drag the following link to your bookmark bar Scan for Privacy, go to your Facebook privacy tab and then click the bookmark. It will automatically run a JavaScript process to find what security flaws may allow your friends to share your information, what is publicly available and a few other nifty ways to prevent your pictures to be spread throughout the Internet.
Just incase you are paranoid that the bookmark may also be providing them information, they have the following privacy statement, which is also easily reflected in the code we have rummaged through.
Our privacy policy is not long:
- we never see your Facebook data
- we never share your personal information
Simple. The scanner operates entirely within your own browser.
The source code for the bookmark is also open source and they provide on their site just in case other programmers would like to improve upon it.
