Everyone has their favorite place to great hamburgers, for some it’s the gruel grade fast food and others select pure gold.
The same kind of gold that clogs your arteries in the best kind of way. Good Stuff eatery in Washington DC is the offspring of Chef Spike, who appeared on Bravo’s Top Chef (who wants to bet he guest stars on Top Chef DC, coming out this month).
Located on Capitol Hill, after a short walk past numerous bars, is a modern building that simply produces one of the most amazing smells as you walk by it. The line was long, which means in the dine and dash restaurant world, this food would be amazing.
A few burgers designated to Obama and wife Michelle, some various well known others and modern flare make the posted menu slightly different. We decided to go at the Colletti’s Smokehouse and Free Range Turkey Burger, topped off with Spikes Homegrown Vidalia Onion Rings and the Village Fries.
Even though the Colletti emanated the awesome smell of a greasy death, it was very lean, but still had the taste of a perfect burger. The Turkey burger was just as great, and obviously quite a bit healthier.
As for the sides of onion rings, these were the most greasy, but still amazing part of the meal. The numerous different types of dipping sauces on hand made the sides that much more delectable (damn it my mouth is watering again). Spikes Village Fries on the other hand were still in the same semi-greasy category, but had a fresh flavor of thyme and rosemary mixed in.
Although we were extremely full from the food, one of the most popular things Good Stuff is known for is their Hand Spun Toasted Marshmallow shake. The next thing on our hit list will surely be the shakes, but that might just be withdrawal from the food coma.
Play This: We recommend you ditch Five Guys and immediately and go to Good Stuff, located at 303 Pennsylvania Ave S.E. Washington DC 20003.
