Have you ever wondered how much time you have spent tweeting? Wonder no longer!
Ben P or @yesiamben has created a rather interesting tool that identifies approximately how much time we have used tweeting. The results of his formula may not be something you want to know, or would even admit to in a public form (sans fellow Web nerds); however, it’s just another quick and innovative use of our data.
On one of my accounts (@thejournalizer) I have supposedly spent 1 day, 14 hours and 54 minutes of my life sending tweets (not counting the other eight accounts I manage), based on 9337 tweets. As a comparison @dcseth also took his spin at the wheel to find he spent 8 days, 14 hours and 28 minutes tweeting. To get this information Ben uses a pretty simple fomula:
Working to an average of 15 seconds a tweet (which is probably a bit longer than those quick @ replies and a bit shorter than something you’d think about)
For a bit of prospective he has also included some random celebrity salaries compared to the amount of hours you’ve put into Twitter, as well as a few other trivial notes. Keep in mind that this number is based on your tweets, and not time spent lurkering or reading other tweets.
Check out how long you’ve spent tweeting, and let me know in the comments below.
