Our History

Play This magazine was the social front for Evolution Freelance Media (EFM). In 2005 EFM was created to assist students with their writing, marketing and other media news.

This later evolved to what is now Play This magazine, which has been entertaining and providing news since 2008. When Play This was first created, only a month after its Web appearance, it pulled in over 5,000 views on a single article. Since then, Play This has drawn in more readers and return guests than any other start up social media magazine.

We cater to the need and views of our readers and hold no political agenda. The goal of Play This magazine is simply to inform, entertain and empower others through educational content.

Journalists and geeks unite through Play This magazine to bring you news, reviews and anything else you may want to know. If you want more coverage on a subject, Play This is there for you! We cater to all sorts of readers and are happy to put ourselves on the line to get you the story. Want more in-depth interviews with stars? Or perhaps the latest scoop on video games that you shouldn’t know about. We’ll dig through the rumor mills and pull out the facts.

We pride ourselves on following true journalistic guidelines, as outlined by NYU and our relevant experience and education.

In 2011, EFM became Play This Media and will continue to provide the same informative content. There will be a greater focus on the use of social media though.
